2017 Volkswagen Jetta Review:
"The 2017 Volkswagen Jetta stands out as a well-rounded compact sedan, offering a comfortable ride, efficient powertrains, and impressive practicality. Its clean, understated design appeals to those who prefer timeless styling over flashy trends. The exterior features sharp lines, a refined grille, and well-integrated lighting elements, creating a sophisticated yet approachable appearance.
On the road, the Jetta delivers a smooth and composed driving experience, with multiple engine options to suit varying preferences. The base 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine provides 150 horsepower, offering an excellent balance of performance and fuel efficiency. For those seeking more power, the 1.8-liter turbocharged engine delivers 170 horsepower, while the sporty GLI trim features a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 210 horsepower. The steering is precise, and the suspension strikes a good balance between comfort and handling, making the Jetta a solid choice for both city driving and highway cruising.
The interior of the Jetta emphasizes functionality and comfort. The cabin features high-quality materials and a straightforward layout, ensuring ease of use for all occupants. The front seats are supportive and offer ample adjustability, while the rear seats provide generous legroom, a highlight for a compact sedan. The trunk is notably spacious, boasting 15.7 cubic feet of cargo space, which rivals many midsize sedans.
Volkswagen equipped the 2017 Jetta with a host of modern technology features to enhance convenience and connectivity. Even the base trim includes a touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth and a rearview camera. Higher trims add features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a premium Fender audio system, ensuring a more connected and enjoyable driving experience. Safety is also a priority, with available advanced features like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. These systems complement standard safety equipment, contributing to the Jetta’s strong safety ratings.
Fuel economy is another area where the Jetta excels. The 1.4-liter engine achieves up to 40 mpg on the highway, making it an efficient choice for daily commuting. The other engine options also deliver competitive mileage, balancing performance with practicality.
Overall, the 2017 Volkswagen Jetta offers a compelling package for drivers seeking a compact sedan that prioritizes comfort, efficiency, and understated style. Its range of powertrain options, spacious interior, and advanced technology make it a strong contender in its segment, appealing to a wide range of buyers."

RECALL NOTICE
What is a recall:
A safety recall involving a motor vehicle or an item of motor vehicle equipment can be independently conducted by a manufacturer or ordered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In either case, the manufacturer must file a public report describing the safety-related defect or noncompliance with a Federal motor vehicle safety standard, the involved vehicle/equipment population, the major events that resulted in the recall determination, a description of the remedy, and a schedule for the recall. NHTSA monitors each safety recall to ensure the manufacturers provide owners safe, free, and effective remedies according to the Safety Act and Federal regulations. Manufacturers are obligated to attempt to notify owners of recalled products. For vehicles, that means manufacturers merge their own records of vehicle purchasers with current state vehicle registration information. For equipment, where state registration records do not exist, manufacturers are obligated to notify their distribution chain and known purchasers of the recalled equipment. However, even if you do not receive a notification, if your vehicle, child restraint, or other item of equipment is involved in a safety recall, the manufacturer is obligated to provide a free remedy.
