2009 Honda Accord Review:
"The 2009 Honda Accord continues the brand’s long-standing reputation for reliability, practicality, and overall value. As one of the most popular midsize sedans on the market, the Accord is known for its spacious interior, strong performance, and well-rounded features, making it a standout choice in its class.
Under the hood, the 2009 Accord offers two engine options: a 2.4-liter inline-four and a more powerful 3.5-liter V6. The four-cylinder engine delivers a respectable 177 to 190 horsepower, depending on the trim level, and provides a good balance of power and fuel efficiency. For those seeking more robust performance, the V6 engine produces an impressive 271 horsepower and features Honda's Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) system, which helps improve fuel economy by deactivating cylinders when full power isn’t needed. Both engines offer smooth acceleration, responsive handling, and a refined driving experience, making the Accord enjoyable on both city streets and highways.
Inside, the Accord’s cabin is one of its strongest selling points. The interior feels more upscale than many competitors, with high-quality materials and excellent fit and finish. The seats are comfortable and supportive, providing ample room for both front and rear passengers. The rear legroom, in particular, is noteworthy, offering more space than many other vehicles in the midsize segment. Additionally, the trunk provides a generous 14 cubic feet of cargo space, making it practical for daily use and road trips alike.
When it comes to features, the 2009 Accord offers a range of options to suit different preferences. Even the base models come well-equipped with essentials like air conditioning, power windows and locks, and a six-speaker audio system with an auxiliary input. Higher trims add more premium touches, such as leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, a power sunroof, and an upgraded audio system with a navigation option. The available technology and comfort features help elevate the overall driving experience, making the Accord feel more luxurious than its price point suggests.
In terms of safety, the 2009 Accord earns high marks, with standard features including anti-lock brakes, stability control, front-seat side airbags, and full-length curtain airbags. The vehicle received top ratings in crash tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), reinforcing its reputation as a safe and reliable choice for families.
One area where the 2009 Accord may fall short for some buyers is in its exterior design. While it is by no means unattractive, the styling leans more toward conservative and understated, which may not appeal to those seeking a sportier or more distinctive look. However, the Accord’s timeless design contributes to its enduring popularity, as it tends to age gracefully compared to more trend-driven alternatives.
Overall, the 2009 Honda Accord excels in key areas that matter most to midsize sedan buyers: reliability, comfort, performance, and safety. It strikes an ideal balance between practicality and refinement, making it an excellent choice for individuals and families alike. While its styling may not turn heads, the Accord’s well-rounded package and reputation for longevity make it a smart investment for those seeking a dependable and versatile vehicle."

RECALL NOTICE
What is a recall:
A safety recall involving a motor vehicle or an item of motor vehicle equipment can be independently conducted by a manufacturer or ordered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In either case, the manufacturer must file a public report describing the safety-related defect or noncompliance with a Federal motor vehicle safety standard, the involved vehicle/equipment population, the major events that resulted in the recall determination, a description of the remedy, and a schedule for the recall. NHTSA monitors each safety recall to ensure the manufacturers provide owners safe, free, and effective remedies according to the Safety Act and Federal regulations. Manufacturers are obligated to attempt to notify owners of recalled products. For vehicles, that means manufacturers merge their own records of vehicle purchasers with current state vehicle registration information. For equipment, where state registration records do not exist, manufacturers are obligated to notify their distribution chain and known purchasers of the recalled equipment. However, even if you do not receive a notification, if your vehicle, child restraint, or other item of equipment is involved in a safety recall, the manufacturer is obligated to provide a free remedy.
