2016 Nissan Pathfinder Review:
"The 2016 Nissan Pathfinder is a midsize SUV that strikes a balance between family-friendly practicality and modern technology. With a sleek design, a spacious interior, and capable performance, the Pathfinder continues to be a strong competitor in the crowded SUV market.
Powering the 2016 Pathfinder is a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 260 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), the Pathfinder delivers smooth, consistent power with a refined driving experience. The V6 provides enough muscle for everyday driving, highway merging, and even light towing, with a maximum towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds. Fuel economy is also decent for the class, with the front-wheel-drive model achieving an EPA rating of 20 mpg city and 27 mpg highway, while the all-wheel-drive version slightly lowers that to 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.
Inside, the 2016 Pathfinder boasts a roomy cabin with three rows of seating that can accommodate up to seven passengers. The interior is well-built, with materials that feel durable and upscale, particularly in higher trims. The front and second-row seats are comfortable and supportive, offering plenty of legroom for adults. The third row, while more suitable for children, can still accommodate shorter adults on shorter trips. With all seats in use, the cargo space is somewhat limited, but folding the third row opens up a generous 47.8 cubic feet, expanding to 79.8 cubic feet with the second row down, making it versatile for family trips or larger loads.
The 2016 Pathfinder comes equipped with a solid list of standard technology features, including a tri-zone automatic climate control system, a six-speaker audio system with a 7-inch display, Bluetooth connectivity, and a rearview camera. Higher trims offer more premium features like a Bose sound system, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a power liftgate, and a rear-seat entertainment system. The available NissanConnect infotainment system, with its user-friendly interface and navigation option, further enhances the overall driving experience.
On the road, the Pathfinder offers a comfortable and composed ride. Its suspension is tuned for a smooth experience, absorbing road imperfections and delivering a quiet cabin. While it’s not the most agile in its class, its handling is stable and predictable, making it a confidence-inspiring SUV for long highway drives or suburban commutes. Off-road capabilities are limited, but the available all-wheel-drive system provides added traction in slippery conditions, making it a suitable choice for families in regions with challenging weather.
Safety is a key focus for the 2016 Pathfinder, which includes a range of standard features like stability and traction control, antilock brakes, and a full complement of airbags. Higher trims add advanced safety technologies like blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a 360-degree camera system. The Pathfinder also performed well in safety testing, earning good crash test ratings from both the NHTSA and IIHS, providing peace of mind for families.
In summary, the 2016 Nissan Pathfinder offers a compelling mix of versatility, comfort, and technology. Its spacious interior, capable V6 engine, and solid safety scores make it a strong contender for families looking for a midsize SUV that can handle daily errands, long road trips, and light towing duties, all while offering modern conveniences and a comfortable ride."

RECALL NOTICE
What is a recall:
A safety recall involving a motor vehicle or an item of motor vehicle equipment can be independently conducted by a manufacturer or ordered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In either case, the manufacturer must file a public report describing the safety-related defect or noncompliance with a Federal motor vehicle safety standard, the involved vehicle/equipment population, the major events that resulted in the recall determination, a description of the remedy, and a schedule for the recall. NHTSA monitors each safety recall to ensure the manufacturers provide owners safe, free, and effective remedies according to the Safety Act and Federal regulations. Manufacturers are obligated to attempt to notify owners of recalled products. For vehicles, that means manufacturers merge their own records of vehicle purchasers with current state vehicle registration information. For equipment, where state registration records do not exist, manufacturers are obligated to notify their distribution chain and known purchasers of the recalled equipment. However, even if you do not receive a notification, if your vehicle, child restraint, or other item of equipment is involved in a safety recall, the manufacturer is obligated to provide a free remedy.
