2019 Subaru Impreza Review:
"The 2019 Subaru Impreza offers a well-rounded package with its standard all-wheel-drive, a comfortable interior, and advanced safety features. As one of the few compact cars with all-wheel drive, it stands out in its class, appealing to drivers in areas with harsh weather conditions. The exterior design is modern yet understated, with sleek lines and a more refined look than earlier models. While it may not grab attention like some sportier rivals, the Impreza's clean design ensures it remains appealing over time.
Inside, the 2019 Impreza offers a well-crafted and spacious cabin. The materials are a step above what you’d expect from a typical compact car, with soft-touch surfaces and intuitive controls. The seating is comfortable and supportive, especially up front, and there’s ample legroom for rear passengers, making it suitable for longer trips. One of the strong points of the Impreza is its user-friendly infotainment system. Subaru's STARLINK system, which comes with a 6.5-inch or optional 8-inch touchscreen, offers crisp graphics, simple navigation, and seamless smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Under the hood, the Impreza is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 152 horsepower. While this engine provides adequate performance for daily driving, it can feel underpowered in more demanding situations, such as highway merging or carrying heavy loads. The continuously variable transmission (CVT) is smooth, though it doesn’t offer the immediate throttle response some drivers may prefer. Subaru also offers a five-speed manual transmission for those who prefer a more hands-on driving experience, though this is rare in modern compact cars. In terms of fuel economy, the Impreza delivers competitive figures, especially for an all-wheel-drive car, with an EPA rating of 28 mpg city and 36 mpg highway with the CVT.
One of the Impreza’s standout features is its exceptional ride quality. The suspension is tuned to absorb bumps and rough road surfaces with ease, making it one of the more comfortable options in the compact class. Despite its focus on comfort, the Impreza maintains composed handling, offering confidence in corners and a stable feel at highway speeds. Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel-drive system enhances traction in both dry and wet conditions, a feature that makes it ideal for buyers who live in regions with rain or snow.
Safety is a top priority for Subaru, and the 2019 Impreza reflects that with an array of standard and available safety features. Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist system, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and automatic emergency braking, is available on most trims and comes standard on higher-end models. These features help the Impreza earn high safety ratings, including a Top Safety Pick+ from the IIHS.
In conclusion, the 2019 Subaru Impreza is a compelling choice for those seeking a practical, comfortable, and safe compact car. While its engine may lack the punch some drivers desire, the Impreza makes up for it with a refined interior, excellent ride quality, and the added security of all-wheel drive. For buyers prioritizing safety, versatility, and all-weather capability, the Impreza is a standout option in the compact car segment."

RECALL NOTICE
What is a recall:
A safety recall involving a motor vehicle or an item of motor vehicle equipment can be independently conducted by a manufacturer or ordered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In either case, the manufacturer must file a public report describing the safety-related defect or noncompliance with a Federal motor vehicle safety standard, the involved vehicle/equipment population, the major events that resulted in the recall determination, a description of the remedy, and a schedule for the recall. NHTSA monitors each safety recall to ensure the manufacturers provide owners safe, free, and effective remedies according to the Safety Act and Federal regulations. Manufacturers are obligated to attempt to notify owners of recalled products. For vehicles, that means manufacturers merge their own records of vehicle purchasers with current state vehicle registration information. For equipment, where state registration records do not exist, manufacturers are obligated to notify their distribution chain and known purchasers of the recalled equipment. However, even if you do not receive a notification, if your vehicle, child restraint, or other item of equipment is involved in a safety recall, the manufacturer is obligated to provide a free remedy.
