2017 Subaru Impreza Review:
"The 2017 Subaru Impreza stands out as a solid choice for drivers who prioritize safety, all-weather capability, and practicality in a compact car. Redesigned from previous models, this Impreza offers a more refined interior, updated technology, and a fresh look, making it a compelling option in its class. Built on Subaru’s Global Platform, it boasts improved handling, ride comfort, and noise insulation—noticeable advancements that elevate the driving experience. The Impreza’s redesigned exterior looks modern and stylish, appealing to a broader audience while maintaining the rugged charm Subaru is known for.
Under the hood, the Impreza comes with a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder Boxer engine, delivering 152 horsepower. This engine pairs well with the standard all-wheel drive, a feature that remains unique in this class, providing reliable traction in wet or snowy conditions. The engine’s power is sufficient for daily commuting and occasional highway travel, though it may feel underpowered compared to some turbocharged rivals. Fuel economy is a strong point, with the CVT-equipped model offering up to 28 mpg city and 38 mpg highway, making it a fuel-efficient choice for an all-wheel-drive vehicle.
Inside, the Impreza offers a clean and practical interior design, focusing on comfort and functionality. High-quality materials, soft-touch surfaces, and a well-organized layout create an inviting cabin environment. There’s ample headroom and legroom for front and rear passengers, even for a compact car. Subaru’s STARLINK infotainment system, standard on most trims, features a user-friendly 6.5-inch or optional 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, giving drivers modern connectivity options that keep the Impreza competitive with newer rivals.
On the road, the Impreza shines with its composed and confident handling, enhanced by Subaru’s new platform. The steering is responsive, and the suspension absorbs road imperfections well, making for a comfortable ride over various road surfaces. Safety is a strong suit of the Impreza, with the optional EyeSight Driver Assist package offering adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and pre-collision braking. This suite of features earned the Impreza high marks in crash tests, including a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS, underscoring Subaru’s commitment to safety.
In summary, the 2017 Subaru Impreza is a well-rounded compact car that delivers on multiple fronts: safety, comfort, all-weather capability, and fuel efficiency. While it may not offer the most powerful engine in its class, its thoughtful design and features make it a practical choice for daily driving and weekend adventures alike."

RECALL NOTICE
What is a recall:
A safety recall involving a motor vehicle or an item of motor vehicle equipment can be independently conducted by a manufacturer or ordered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In either case, the manufacturer must file a public report describing the safety-related defect or noncompliance with a Federal motor vehicle safety standard, the involved vehicle/equipment population, the major events that resulted in the recall determination, a description of the remedy, and a schedule for the recall. NHTSA monitors each safety recall to ensure the manufacturers provide owners safe, free, and effective remedies according to the Safety Act and Federal regulations. Manufacturers are obligated to attempt to notify owners of recalled products. For vehicles, that means manufacturers merge their own records of vehicle purchasers with current state vehicle registration information. For equipment, where state registration records do not exist, manufacturers are obligated to notify their distribution chain and known purchasers of the recalled equipment. However, even if you do not receive a notification, if your vehicle, child restraint, or other item of equipment is involved in a safety recall, the manufacturer is obligated to provide a free remedy.
