2017 Toyota RAV4 Review:
"The 2017 Toyota RAV4 stands out as a versatile and reliable compact SUV, offering a balance of practicality, comfort, and advanced safety features. With its spacious interior, efficient powertrain options, and user-friendly technology, the RAV4 caters to families and individuals seeking a dependable vehicle for daily commutes and weekend adventures alike.
Inside, the RAV4 provides a roomy and well-designed cabin with seating for up to five passengers. High-quality materials and thoughtful ergonomics make the interior feel refined and comfortable, while ample headroom and legroom in both rows ensure a pleasant ride for all occupants. The cargo space is among the best in its class, boasting 38.4 cubic feet behind the rear seats, which expands to an impressive 73.4 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded flat. Convenient storage compartments and a low cargo floor further enhance practicality.
Under the hood, the 2017 RAV4 features a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 176 horsepower, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. This setup delivers smooth and predictable performance, ideal for city driving and highway cruising. For those prioritizing fuel efficiency, the RAV4 Hybrid offers a combined output of 194 horsepower and achieves EPA ratings of 34 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, making it an attractive choice for eco-conscious drivers. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is available for added traction and control.
Safety is a strong point for the 2017 RAV4, with Toyota including its Safety Sense™ P suite of features as standard across all trims. This comprehensive package includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, automatic high beams, and a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection. The RAV4 also boasts excellent crash-test ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), earning it a Top Safety Pick+ designation.
On the road, the RAV4 offers a smooth and composed ride, with its suspension effectively absorbing most road imperfections. The steering is light and responsive, making it easy to maneuver in tight spaces and around corners. While it may not deliver sporty performance, the RAV4 excels in providing a comfortable and confidence-inspiring driving experience that suits a wide range of driving conditions.
Technology and convenience are well-represented, with standard features like a 6.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Bluetooth connectivity, and a rearview camera. Higher trims add premium touches such as a larger 7-inch display, navigation, JBL premium audio, and a power liftgate. Features like dual-zone automatic climate control and heated front seats further enhance comfort and convenience, especially on longer trips.
In summary, the 2017 Toyota RAV4 is a well-rounded compact SUV that excels in practicality, safety, and efficiency. Its spacious interior, advanced safety technologies, and reliable performance make it a strong contender in its segment. Whether for everyday commuting, family outings, or weekend road trips, the RAV4 proves itself as a dependable and versatile companion."

RECALL NOTICE
What is a recall:
A safety recall involving a motor vehicle or an item of motor vehicle equipment can be independently conducted by a manufacturer or ordered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In either case, the manufacturer must file a public report describing the safety-related defect or noncompliance with a Federal motor vehicle safety standard, the involved vehicle/equipment population, the major events that resulted in the recall determination, a description of the remedy, and a schedule for the recall. NHTSA monitors each safety recall to ensure the manufacturers provide owners safe, free, and effective remedies according to the Safety Act and Federal regulations. Manufacturers are obligated to attempt to notify owners of recalled products. For vehicles, that means manufacturers merge their own records of vehicle purchasers with current state vehicle registration information. For equipment, where state registration records do not exist, manufacturers are obligated to notify their distribution chain and known purchasers of the recalled equipment. However, even if you do not receive a notification, if your vehicle, child restraint, or other item of equipment is involved in a safety recall, the manufacturer is obligated to provide a free remedy.
