The 2015 Toyota RAV4 LE is a well-rounded compact SUV that delivers on the core values buyers expect from Toyota: reliability, practicality, and overall ease of ownership. As the base trim in the RAV4 lineup, the LE provides a strong value proposition by offering essential features and a comfortable ride without unnecessary frills. For drivers seeking an affordable, spacious crossover with a reputation for dependability, the 2015 RAV4 LE is a smart, no-nonsense choice.
Powering the 2015 RAV4 LE is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 176 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. While not the most powerful option in the class, the RAV4 delivers smooth and predictable performance that suits everyday driving needs. Acceleration is adequate for merging and passing, and the ride quality leans toward comfort with a suspension tuned to absorb road imperfections. Front-wheel drive is standard, though all-wheel drive is available for buyers needing extra traction in inclement weather or light off-road situations.
Inside, the RAV4 LE provides a spacious and functional cabin layout. It easily accommodates five passengers, with generous rear-seat legroom and a flat rear floor that improves comfort for the center-seat occupant. The cargo area is a strong point, offering over 38 cubic feet behind the rear seats and more than 70 cubic feet when they are folded—among the best in the class. Materials are mostly utilitarian, with hard plastics dominating the dashboard and trim, but build quality is solid, and everything feels durable and purpose-built.
Technology in the LE trim is straightforward and user-friendly. The standard 6.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system includes Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, and basic audio controls. While it lacks navigation and advanced smartphone integration, the interface is intuitive and responsive. Toyota also prioritized safety, with standard equipment including a rearview camera, eight airbags, stability control, and traction control. While more advanced features like blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control are reserved for higher trims, the RAV4 LE still earns high safety marks thanks to its structural integrity and standard features.
Overall, the 2015 Toyota RAV4 LE stands out as a dependable, practical crossover that delivers what most drivers in this segment truly need. It may not be the most exciting SUV in its class, but for those who value long-term reliability, solid fuel economy, and utility at a fair price point, the RAV4 LE checks all the right boxes.

RECALL NOTICE
What is a recall:
A safety recall involving a motor vehicle or an item of motor vehicle equipment can be independently conducted by a manufacturer or ordered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In either case, the manufacturer must file a public report describing the safety-related defect or noncompliance with a Federal motor vehicle safety standard, the involved vehicle/equipment population, the major events that resulted in the recall determination, a description of the remedy, and a schedule for the recall. NHTSA monitors each safety recall to ensure the manufacturers provide owners safe, free, and effective remedies according to the Safety Act and Federal regulations. Manufacturers are obligated to attempt to notify owners of recalled products. For vehicles, that means manufacturers merge their own records of vehicle purchasers with current state vehicle registration information. For equipment, where state registration records do not exist, manufacturers are obligated to notify their distribution chain and known purchasers of the recalled equipment. However, even if you do not receive a notification, if your vehicle, child restraint, or other item of equipment is involved in a safety recall, the manufacturer is obligated to provide a free remedy.
