The 2017 Infiniti QX60 is a midsize luxury crossover that successfully balances premium comfort, advanced safety features, and family-friendly practicality. With three rows of seating and a sophisticated, flowing design, the QX60 aims to appeal to buyers who want both upscale styling and daily usability. For 2017, Infiniti refined the powertrain and added more available driver-assistance technologies, helping the QX60 stay competitive in a crowded segment.
Under the hood, the 2017 QX60 features a revised 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 295 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque, mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The engine is smooth and responsive, delivering improved acceleration over previous years, while the CVT does a commendable job of simulating gear shifts to reduce the usual droning feel associated with this type of transmission. Whether equipped with front-wheel drive or the optional all-wheel-drive system, the QX60 handles daily driving duties with composure and a refined ride, thanks in part to its well-tuned suspension. It's not a sporty SUV, but it offers confident handling and quiet cruising, which suits its role as a family luxury vehicle.
Inside, the QX60 offers a richly appointed cabin with high-quality materials and elegant design touches. The first two rows of seating are especially comfortable, with available heated and ventilated front seats and power-adjustable options to maximize support. The second row slides and reclines for added flexibility, while the third row—though best for kids or shorter trips—adds welcome versatility. Interior space is generous overall, and the QX60 boasts a respectable 15.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, which expands to more than 76 cubic feet with both rear rows folded down.
Technology in the 2017 QX60 is robust, though not quite cutting-edge compared to rivals that offer more modern infotainment systems. The standard 8-inch display screen handles navigation and media functions, while Bluetooth, satellite radio, a rearview camera, and six-speaker audio are also standard. Infiniti’s infotainment interface isn’t the most intuitive, but it’s functional once you’re familiar with it. Higher trims and option packages add luxuries like a 13-speaker Bose premium audio system, rear-seat entertainment, and additional USB ports.
Where the QX60 really excels is in safety. For 2017, Infiniti added new available driver-assistance features such as forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection. Standard safety equipment includes a rearview camera, traction and stability control, antilock brakes, and a full complement of airbags. Available advanced features include blind-spot warning, backup collision intervention, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree surround-view camera system. These features, combined with the QX60’s solid crash test scores, make it a smart choice for families who value security.
Overall, the 2017 Infiniti QX60 is a well-rounded luxury SUV that prioritizes comfort, safety, and practicality without losing its premium feel. It may not lead the pack in performance or cutting-edge tech, but for buyers looking for a quiet, comfortable, and versatile three-row luxury crossover, the QX60 delivers a satisfying and confident ownership experience.

RECALL NOTICE
What is a recall:
A safety recall involving a motor vehicle or an item of motor vehicle equipment can be independently conducted by a manufacturer or ordered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In either case, the manufacturer must file a public report describing the safety-related defect or noncompliance with a Federal motor vehicle safety standard, the involved vehicle/equipment population, the major events that resulted in the recall determination, a description of the remedy, and a schedule for the recall. NHTSA monitors each safety recall to ensure the manufacturers provide owners safe, free, and effective remedies according to the Safety Act and Federal regulations. Manufacturers are obligated to attempt to notify owners of recalled products. For vehicles, that means manufacturers merge their own records of vehicle purchasers with current state vehicle registration information. For equipment, where state registration records do not exist, manufacturers are obligated to notify their distribution chain and known purchasers of the recalled equipment. However, even if you do not receive a notification, if your vehicle, child restraint, or other item of equipment is involved in a safety recall, the manufacturer is obligated to provide a free remedy.
